Objectives of the Course are as follows:
- To introduce the student to the first and second laws of thermodynamics by solving energy/work problems with SI and British units.
- To teach the student heat transfer and its main forms of mechanisms.
- To introduce the students to the mechanical, electrical and thermal energy concepts and shaft work by solving problems involving pump-motor and turbine-generator couples.
- To introduce the students to heat/Carnot engines and conventional energy production.
- To introduce the student to the renewable energy production technologies.
