The study of medical terminology introduces students to the language of medicine. Using a systems-approach, students study, analyze and interpret root words, prefixes and suffixes with emphasis on spelling, pronunciation, definition and use of medical terms. As part of the learning process, students are exposed to basic anatomy, physiology, pathology of disease, and clinical procedures. In addition to medical terms, common abbreviations applicable to each system will be interpreted.
