The main theme of the 3rd year architectural studio ARC 302 is based on interventions within a historic context. The studio has a focus on the impacts of environmental and socio cultural issues in a specific scenario of a historic city structure.  In this studio, students will start to develop an understanding of the concepts, principles and theories of architectural and urban design within a historical and archaeological context as well as the relationships between environmental, social needs, spatial relationship, built environment, context and heritage.  Through studying the formation of the overall city structure in order to understand better the elements the context is built from, a new interpretation would be made resulting in putting in place a coherent development of the selected city.
